Rush-hour collision partially closed intersection of Gordon and Arkell (2 photos)

No serious injuries, say police

Traffic is now flowing on all directions after a rush hour collision on Gordon St. at Arkell Rd. forced the closure of some lanes while emergency vehicles attended the scene.

Acting Traffic Sgt. Dan Mosey said the Guelph Police Service received the call for the two-vehicle collision came in before 4:30 p.m on Wednesday.

One driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries, said Mosey, while a second driver and the child in that vehicle were not injured.

No one was sent to hospital, said Mosey.

Front-end damage was visible on the car and SUV involved in the collision, both of which were removed from the scene by tow trucks.

Some lanes were partially opened at the scene while emergency crews attended, said Mosey, and the scene was clear and fully open to traffic shortly after 5:15 p.m.

The collision is currently under investigation, said Mosey.
