Search warrant executed, two arrested for trafficking

In early 2019, the Guelph Police Service Drug Unit initiated an investigation into possible drug trafficking. As part of the investigation, on Feb. 28, 2019 at approximately 4 a.m., the Drug and Tactical Unit conducted a search warrant to in a residential apartment building on Carden Street.

As a result of this investigation, two individuals were arrested: A 24-year-old Guelph male and a 27-year-old Guelph male were charged with several offences including, but not limited to, conspiracy to commit under the Criminal Code, possession of a controlled substance, drug trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.

As a result of the search warrant, approximately $1,600 worth of drugs were seized. Drugs seized include crystal methamphetamine, crack cocaine and fentanyl. Furthermore, a conductive energy weapon was seized along with other weapons such as a machete and pellet gun.

Both males were held for a bail hearing.
