Senior assaulted by stranger while walking granddaughter

A woman in her 60s was reportedly assaulted Monday morning while walking her granddaughter to her school bus.

The incident happened at about 9 a.m. in the area of Woolwich Street and Mac Avenue, a police news release explains. An unknown man struck the woman in the back of the head, knocking her to the ground.

The victim didn’t seek medical attention.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-20s and about 5’10” tall, with an athletic build. At the time he was wearing a long, dark coat. 

He was last seen walking north on Woolwich Street.
