Senior on scooter struck by vehicle

Minor injuries and driver was charged with failing to yield

A Guelph woman sustained minor injuries after being struck while crossing the street in a mobility scooter Friday afternoon.

Police were called just after 5 p.m. to Wellington Street East and Neeve Street. A woman in her 70s was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle which was making a left turn. The woman was knocked from the scooter and was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver, a 33-year-old Guelph woman, is charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
