Serious injuries reported in yesterday's pedestrian collision

On March 7, 2019 at 9:31 a.m., Guelph Police responded to the report of a pedestrian being struck by a car at the intersection of Woolwich Street and London Road.

Investigation has determined that the 81-year-old female pedestrian was crossing Woolwich Street walking westbound when a car that was eastbound on London Road made a left turn onto Woolwich Street striking the pedestrian. The injured woman was later transported to Hamilton by ambulance with serious injuries.

Woolwich Street between London Road and Mont Street was closed to traffic until shortly after 3 p.m. while police collision reconstruction officers investigated the incident. Further information will be released as the investigation continues.
