Several impaired charges laid over weekend

COUNTY OF WELLINGTON - This past weekend saw Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) dealing with a variety of impaired driving situations including alcohol-related collisions.

On Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 at approximately 5:30 p.m. a 20-year-old male was arrested after he was located intoxicated and asleep behind the wheel in a live lane of traffic on Wellington Road 30 near Wellington Road 86.

On Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 at approximately 2:30 a.m. a 26-year-old male was caught  in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) check on Collage Avenue, Guelph. Then at approximately 3 a.m. a 31-year-old male was also caught under the influence of alcohol at that very same RIDE check.

On Sunday, Sept. 30 at approximately 1:30 a.m. a 55-year-old female was charged with 'Over 80' when she entered a RIDE check on Highway 6, North of Guelph.

At approximately 12 p.m. a three-vehicle collision saw the at-fault-driver receive an 'ALERT' after a Road Side Screening Test and received a 3-day-suspension on Wellington Road 124, west of Guelph.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. a 65-year-old male near Conn was caught driving with over 80 mg of blood per 100mL of blood and while his licence was disqualified.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. a 50-year-old female was charged with Impaired Driving and Refusing to Provide a Sample of Breath after officers suspected that she was under the influence of alcohol after a single vehicle collision on Wellington Road 22, Erin.
