Sexual assault suspect escapes on bicycle in Fergus

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON - On April 24, 2020, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a sexual assault that occurred on a trail on the east end of Fergus.

At approximately 9 p.m., the female victim was sexually assaulted in the Elora-Cataract Trail east of Gartshore Street in Fergus by a man riding a bicycle. The suspect fled the scene on his bike and was last observed riding east towards Fergus.  

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian.
  • 5'9"-5'10" in height.
  • Approximately 150 pounds.
  • Sparse facial hair on upper lip and chin.
  • Round face.
  • Thin lips.
  • He was wearing black reading glasses, a black baggy hooded sweater, black pants, and a black "beanie" hat.

OPP canvassed the area but was unable to locate the man.

OPP are asking anyone with any information about this occurrence is asked to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
