Speeding motorcyclist flees on foot, later arrested

Police clocked him last Thursday doing 116 km/h in a 60 km/h zone, he then took off and was arrested several days later

A Guelph man faces charges after police observed a motorcycle driving dangerously.

Police say that last Thursday, April 13, at approximately 8:45 p.m., police were called to the area of Burns Drive for complaints of a motorcycle speeding around the neighbourhood. An officer saw the motorcycle speeding and clocked it on radar at 116 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. Upon spotting the officer, the driver stopped the motorcycle and fled on foot.

He was later identified and on Thursday afternoon was arrested.

A 37-year-old man is charged with dangerous driving, driving while prohibited, obstructing police and several Highway Traffic Act offences.
