Guelph police are investigating after a tractor trailer was stolen early Tuesday and driven around the city before being abandoned.
Approximately 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, the owner of a local company called to report the truck and trailer combination was stolen overnight from their lot on Eramosa Road. The truck was tracked using its on-board GPS and was located about 6:20 a.m. parked behind a business on Silvercreek Parkway North.
The truck was not occupied but its trailer had sustained some damage.
Investigation revealed the truck had been stolen approximately 12:35 a.m. and drove to several locations in and around Guelph before pulling into a commercial property on Highway 6 just north of the city. The truck had struck a light standard at that property, causing the damage to the trailer.
