A transport truck taken from a south-end business during the weekend has been recovered, tracked down in Mississauga thanks to its GPS system, but a 53-foot long trailer remains missing, say police.

A man called police Monday morning to report his Freightliner truck and trailer were taken from a Laird Road business sometime between Saturday evening and that morning, explains a Guelph Police Service news release, noting bolt cutters, scissors and broken glass were found next to where the truck had been parked.

Courtesy of the truck’s GPS system, the truck was tracked to a Mississauga address, where it was recovered by the owner, with the assistance of Peel Regional Police.

The theft remains under investigation.
