A Stratford man is charged with resisting arrest and after Guelph police say two officers were assaulted Tuesday night.
Approximately 11:35 p.m. police were called for a male trespassing near a home at Gordon Street and Dormie Lane. Investigation revealed he was wanted in Stratford for resisting a police officer and breaching probation.
As officers attempted to arrest the man on the outstanding warrant he began actively resisting, pulling his hands away and pushing the officers backwards. Eventually he was placed under arrest.
A 35-year-old Stratford man is further charged with assault to resist arrest and breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
