Students accused of aggravated assault in high school incident

Student injured in school assault

On January 25, 2017 members of the Guelph Wellington Emergency Medical Services responded to a Guelph secondary school for a male student in need of medical care.

Investigation by members of the Guelph Police Service revealed that the injuries sustained by the student had been inflicted on him by two fellow students who were subsequently arrested for the offence of aggravated assault.

The injured student was initially transported to the Guelph General Hospital, but has since been transported to the McMaster University Medical Centre in Hamilton with a head injury. At this time, the extent or severity of the injury is not known.

Those involved in this incident are all young persons and no names will be released.
