A Kitchener teenager faces stunt driving and other charges after nearly colliding with a Guelph police cruiser on the weekend.

Just after 4 p.m. Saturday, an officer was eastbound on Woodlawn Road West when he observed a westbound vehicle speeding and weaving through traffic. The vehicle swerved into the shared centre turn lane to pass both westbound lanes, partially entering the eastbound lanes and almost striking the cruiser.

The officer made a u-turn and located the vehicle stopped in a nearby plaza and saw the driver running into a business. An 18-year-old Kitchener male was charged with stunt driving and several Highway Traffic Act offences. His licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
