Three vehicles take the ditch - three impaired charges follow

In unrelated incidents, drivers from Guelph, Scotland and Bolton earned seven-day license suspensions, vehicle impounds

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA - On Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a police assist call from a motorist who advised that she was lost and stuck in a ditch possibly near a Conservation Area. 

While attempting to locate the vehicle, police received a second call from a witness that located a vehicle in the ditch on Conservation Road with a possible impaired driver.

Officers attended the scene and while speaking with the female driver, determined that she was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening device test (ASD) was conducted which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Sixty-one-year-old Donna Foreman-Braun of Guelph has been charged with over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 30, 2018. 

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at approximately 9:24 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a blue pickup truck in the ditch with an intoxicated male driver on Wellington Road 18 near Wellington Road 26 in Centre Wellington Township.

After a brief investigation and speaking with the driver, he was placed under arrest for impaired driving and taken to a local OPP Operation Centre for further processing.

Forty-four-year-old Michael Lamb of Scotland has been charged with impaired driving and over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code.

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 30, 2018.

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 at approximately 4:41 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a beige car in the ditch on Wellington Road 7 near Middlebrook Road in Centre Wellington Township with a possible impaired driver.

Police located the vehicle and while speaking with the driver determined that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. A roadside screening device (ASD) test was conducted which was resulted in a fail. He was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further processing.

Thirty-eight-year-old Tony Henderson of Bolton has been charged with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code.

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 30, 2018.
