Guelph man faces assault charge after bus altercation

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Male assaulted on bus
On March 30, 2020 just before 5:16 p.m., an adult male pushed an adult male victim to the ground while he was getting off a bus near the intersection of Gordon Street and Wellington Street West in the City of Guelph. The victim banged up his knees and experienced significant neck pain from the incident, but did not require medical attention.

Further investigation revealed that the responsible male was also currently wanted on a warrant for the following charges:
    •    Break, enter and commit
    •    Breach probation

On April 8, police found the male out front of an apartment building located in the downtown core, and he was subsequently arrested.

A 24-year-old Guelph male has been additionally charged with:
    •    Assault
    •    Breach probation x2

He will appear in court on July 24.  

Tools stolen from commercial compound
On April 8, 2020 at 2:56 a.m., a commercial compound located near the intersection of Southgate Drive and Laird Road in the City of Guelph was entered. Numerous vehicles located within the compound were entered and a large quantity of tools were taken.
