On July 20, 2016 the Guelph Police received the report of a male seen on two separate occasions in the area of the Royal City Park children’s play area between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

On July 20, 2016 the Guelph Police received the report of a male seen on two separate occasions in the area of the Royal City Park children’s play area between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. The concern is that the man does not seem to know the kids but has been seen talking to them and pushing them on the swings.

There has been no complaints of a criminal act but the Guelph Police would like to identify and speak with this man.

He is described as white, 5’10”, approximately 25-35 years old, short brown hair and no facial hair. He was wearing dark pants and a dark long sleeve shirt.

Break and enter

On July 20, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Huron Street residence to investigate a break and enter. It was reported that at approximately 12:30 a.m., one of the residents found a man inside the home and told him to leave. The man left the residence and no theft is reported. The man is described as white with short red/blonde buzzed hair wearing a black shirt.

Break and enter

On July 20, 2016 at 6:05 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Cardigan Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the garage sometime overnight and stole a bicycle.

Theft of car

On July 21, 2016 at 4:10 a.m., the Guelph Police went to Starwood Avenue for the report of a stolen car that just occurred. The owner advised that earlier in the day his gym bag was stolen from an unlocked car in his driveway. The bag contained the keys to the stolen car. In an attempt to protect the car with the stolen keys, he blocked that vehicle in with another car. The culprit(s) damaged the car that was blocking the stolen one and damaged the residences garden in driving the vehicle away. Police searched the area but could not locate the car. It is described as a grey Toyota Corolla with Ontario plates 913TLS.

Downtown arrest

On July 20, 2016 at 4:40 p.m., the Guelph Police High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) spoke with a male downtown that had been previously released from bail court on July 19, 2016. The male was found to be in breach of a condition of that bail release and he was arrested.

The 37-year-old Guelph man has been charged with breach of recognizance and two counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on July 21, 2016.

Theft from cars

On July 20, 2016 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Waterloo Avenue and Darling Crescent.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Road safety enforcement on July 20

In the area of Gordon Street and Maltby Road from 7:45 a.m. - 9:25 a.m. - 7 tickets issued.

In the area of Stone Road East from 7 p.m. - 8:10 p.m. - 2 tickets issued.

Ontario Street stop sign enforcement randomly throughout the day – 10 tickets issued
