In the last 24 hours, the Guelph Police Service dealt with 215 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

On March 14, 2018, at approximately 10 a.m., Guelph police were called to a restaurant on Gordon Street, where there was a report of a male yelling at staff. It is alleged the male was asked to leave and began throwing items about. Police located the male and arrested him. An 18-year-old Guelph male was charged with cause disturbance and breaching a YCJA probation order.

Stolen vehicle arrest
On March 13, 2018 Guelph police were called to a motel in the north end of the city. At approximately 6:30 a.m., a person staying at the motel started his vehicle and left it unlocked and running to warm up. At some point while back in his motel room, the vehicle was stolen. Investigation revealed the identity of the suspect.

On March 14, 2018, the suspect was arrested by Wellington County O.P.P. and transported to Guelph. A 20-year-old male was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and breaching an Order of Recognizance. He was held for a bail hearing.

Dangerous driving arrest
On March 14, 2018 at approximately 11:50 p.m., Guelph police were called to a Paisley Road address where there was a report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed the disturbance ended with a male allegedly driving a vehicle and causing a minor collision with a parked car.

Police arrived and spoke to the male driver. After speaking to him, the male was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the police station. The 37-year-old Guelph male was charged with impaired driving, over 80 and dangerous driving. He was held for a bail hearing.
