Man attempts to escape from custody
On May 25, 2016 at 3:30 p.m., a male brought before the court for a bail hearing at 36 Wyndham Street South jumped out of the prisoner’s box, pushed an O.P.P. Special Constable and ran from the room. The male was arrested after a short foot pursuit by court security. A Special Constable suffered minor scrapes during the arrest.
A 22-year-old Guelph man has been charged with escape lawful custody and assault peace officer. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court on May 26, 2016.
Break and enter
On May 25, 2016 at 7:28 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Scottsdale Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered sometime during the daytime through a basement window. A laptop is reported stolen.
