Theft, wanted persons, mischief, calls for service

The following are news releases issued by the Guelph Police Service:

On May 30, 2018, at approximately 9:25 a.m., Guelph police were alerted of a male going through vehicles in the area of Exhibition Park by a concerned citizen.  Guelph police attended in the area and located the male.  He was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property and Breaching his Probation Order. 

Hunter Vickery-Sankey, a 24 year old Guelph male, was further charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and appeared in court on May 30, 2018.

On May 31, 2018, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Guelph police were called about a male checking cars in the area of Stevenson Street North and Rosedale Avenue. Police were able to locate a male described as being the suspect. A 50 year old Guelph male was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Stolen Property, Theft of Credit Card and two counts of Breaching his Probation Order. Several items confirmed to have been stolen were returned to the rightful owner.

On May 30, 2018, at approximately 9:30 p.m., while on routine patrol, police officers observed a female walking in the area of Carden Street that was known to be wanted for Theft Under $5000. The female was arrested without incident. The female was alleged to have stolen property on her person when she was arrested.

Amanda Van Santen, a 28 year old Guelph female, was charged with Theft Under $5000 (warrant) and Possession of Stolen Property. She was given a June 29, 2018 court date.

In the last 24 hours, the Guelph Police Service dealt with 238 calls for service.
