Tip from public leads to downtown impaired arrest

Gueph police report that Saturday around 3:10 a.m. a member of the public notified them about a possibly impaired male driving a motor vehicle near the downtown core.

At 3:15am, police located the vehicle in the area and initiated a traffic stop. Police spoke with the male and he was subsequently arrested.

A 21 year old Oakville male was charged with impaired driving.

His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

He will appear in court on Sept. 21.
