Toronto man convicted of human trafficking

In May 2014 the Guelph Police Service commenced an investigation into a human trafficking allegation against a 27-year-old Toronto male, Marcus Sinclair. This male was arrested on Aug. 26, 2015, for human trafficking and theft under $5,000.

The accused was convicted at trial May 17, 2017 of human trafficking a 19-year-old female over a six-year period within several jurisdictions. Sinclair was also convicted of theft under $5,000 in relation to the same victim.

Sentencing will take place at the Guelph Superior Court located at 74 Woolwich Street on June 26, 2017.
