Toronto man faces impaired charge after two-vehicle collision

The man had his licence suspended and his vehicle impounded as a result of the collision

CITY OF GUELPH - On Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at approximately 7:10 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-motor vehicle rear-end collision on the Hanlon Parkway at Speedvale Avenue involving a possible impaired driver.

Officers arrived at the scene and while speaking with the male driver determined that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

John Lewis, 60-years-old of Toronto has been charged with Impaired Operation - 80 Plus and Impaired Operation. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and seven-day Vehicle Impoundment were initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 9, 2019 to answer to his charges.
