On Feb. 26, 2019, Guelph police were called to the intersection of Victoria Road North and Speedvale Avenue East, where there was a report of a collision between a transport truck and car. As a result of the collision, which was very minor, the load on the transport had shifted, causing a road closure for several hours.

During the investigation, it is alleged police detected the odour of alcohol on the transport driver. The driver was asked to provide a sample of his breath, which he failed.

Scott Turner, a 50 year old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with operating a conveyance with a BAC that is 80 or over.  He was given a March 8, 2019 court date.
