Guelph Police Service dealt with 256 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Break and enter
On March 18, 2019, the Guelph Police went to a Delhi Street building for the report of a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a window sometime overnight. A large number of contractor tools valued at over $5,000 is reported stolen.

Break and enter
On March 18, 2019, the Guelph Police went to an Avondale Avenue residence for the report of a break and enter. The culprit(s) pried open a sunroom door and then smashed a window to gain entry sometime during the daytime. A theft of cash and electronics is reported.

Break and enter
On March 18, 2019, the Guelph Police went to a Woolwich Street residence for the report of a break and enter. The culprit(s) went through a basement window to gain entry sometime during the daytime. A theft of cash, jewelry and electronics is reported.

Break and enter
On March 18, 2019 the Guelph Police went to an Arthur Street South residence for the report of a break and enter. The culprit(s) damaged a rear door to gain entry sometime over the past two weeks.

Man arrested at the mall
On March 18, 2019 at 7:52 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the Stone Road Mall to assist security with an intoxicated man. The man was subsequently arrested for his safety for being intoxicated in a public place. Continued investigation discovered that he was in possession of stolen property and was breaching court imposed conditions.

The 24-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of stolen property, breach of probation and two counts of breach of recognizance. He was also charged under the Liquor Licence Act with being intoxicated in a public place. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Traffic enforcement
On March 18, 2019 between the hours of 5:10 p.m. and 7:53 p.m., the Guelph Police Traffic unit did speed enforcement on Woodlawn Road East. Sixteen tickets were issued.
