CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP – On March 7, 2016 at approximately 8:40 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint about a 2007 Dodge and an officer located the car on Tower Street South, Fergus.

While speaking with the male driver, police located and seized suspected marijuana. He was arrested and released at the scene with court documents

31-year-old Kevin SCHNEIDER of Fergus has been charged with possession of marijuana under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on April 8, 2016.

Break and enter

On March 7, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Silvercreek Parkway South residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) broke into the garage sometime overnight and stole tools.

Break and enter

On March 7, 2016, the Guelph Police went to two apartment buildings on Willow Road to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the laundry rooms on Saturday between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. The machines were damaged and coins taken.

Theft from cars

On March 7, 2016 the Guelph Police received four reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Scottsdale Drive, Edinburgh Road South, Maple Street and Wilkie Crescent.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Youth spits at police

On March 8, 2016 at 2:13 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Gordon Street residence in response to a dispute between a mother and son. While police assisted, the male became aggressive with police and spat on one officer. The male was arrested.

The 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with assault police. He will appear in court on April 13, 2016.
