Stolen vehicle, public mischief

The following are news releases issued by the Guelph Police Service:

On the evening of Oct. 7, a 2015 Honda Odyssey van was reported stolen from an address in Elmira and on the afternoon of Oct. 16, that vehicle was located on Inkerman Street here in Guelph. A male was seen exiting the vehicle and a short time later that same male was arrested as he returned to the vehicle.

A 24-year-old man from Acton was charged with possession of property obtained by crime, occupant in a stolen vehicle and drug possession. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court today.

In the early evening hours of Oct. 16, a south end Guelph resident watched as a female that was known to her, walked up her driveway and made two large scratches down the side of the family vehicle. The damage to vehicle is estimated at $2,000.

[Charge withdrawn], a 33-year-old Guelph woman was charged with mischief under $5000 and is scheduled to appear in court in November.

Over the course of the day on Oct. 16, 2017 the Guelph Police Service responded to 175 calls for service.
