Two boys have been arrested following an ongoing investigation into students having money stolen.

Guelph police have been investigating several reports of students being approached and asked to hand over money in the area of Willow Road and Dawson Road.

On March 9, police learned a 13-year-old boy was walking home from school when he was approached by two males who asked if he had any money. The victim removed some change from his pockets but dropped some on the ground. When he bent to pick it up, one of the males told him to kiss his shoe which the victim pretended to do.

The same day, another 13-year-old told police he was walking into a business on Willow Road when he was approached by two males who asked if he had any money. When the victim left the business he was pushed against the window by the two males. He managed to break free and walk away but was slapped in the head by both males.

Two suspects were identified and have been arrested. A 15-year-old male and 12-year-old Guelph male are each charged with assault and theft. They have been released with court dates in June.
