Two charged with impaired driving after crashing into ditches

FERGUS - On Friday March 15, 2019 just after midnight, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a loud disturbance related to a motor vehicle collision on Angelica Street in Fergus. Witnesses advised that a dark coloured passenger van was involved and was in the ditch.

Officers arrived at the scene and determined that the male driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Johnathon Black, 26-years-old of Elora has been charged with impaired operation and impaired operation - 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

 A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 16, 2019 to answer to his charges.

GUELPH-ERAMOSA - On Saturday March 16, 2019 just after midnight, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on the Second Line near Wellington Road 51 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

Officers attended the scene and observed a vehicle in the ditch with heavy front end damage. While speaking with the female driver, who was uninjured as a result of the collision, officers determined that her ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. She was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Juanda Tripp, 65-years-old of Guelph has been charged with impaired operation and impaired operation - 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

 A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 26, 2019 to answer to her charges.
