Two cyclists collide with vehicles Tuesday morning

Neither suffered serious injuries and in one of the incidents a driver was charged with careless driving

Two cyclists, including a child, sustained minor injuries following unrelated collisions with vehicles Tuesday morning.

Just after 8:30 a.m. police were called to Victoria Road North and Hadati Road, where an 11-year-old boy was crossing the road when he was struck by an SUV. The child was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No charges will be laid.

Just over an hour later, at 9:45 a.m., police were called to Woolwich Street and Woodlawn Road East. An adult male was crossing the street on his bike when he was struck by a van making a right turn. He was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. A 58-year-old Guelph woman was charged with careless driving.
