Two drivers facing impaired charges

Investigations from a disturbance on Gordon Street and a hit and run on Marksam Road have led to charges for two drivers

On Feb. 25, 2019 Guelph Police investigated a disturbance at a business on Gordon Street. One of the involved males left the business and police found him driving on Woodlawn Road. The investigation determined that the driver had consumed alcohol and failed the road side breath sample. He was arrested for operating a vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol.

As a result the 49 year old Burlington man, Kenneth GIBSON was charged with Operating a conveyance with 80 plus milligrams of alcohol and Owner operate a motor vehicle on a highway with no insurance. He is to appear in court on April 2, 2019.

In a seperate incident on February 25, 2019, Guelph Police investigated a hit and run collision that took place on Marksam Road. The responsible driver fled the scene to a residence on Thornhill where the other driver followed him. Police went to the residence and the investigation determined the responsible driver had consumed alcohol and was impaired.

As a result the 20 year old Guelph man, Jeff CREWSON was arrested and charged with Impaired operation of a conveyance, Fail to Remain, Operating a conveyance with 80 plus milligrams of alcohol, Novice driver with a BAC above zero and Young driver with a BAC above zero. He is to appear in court on March 12, 2019.
