Two face drug trafficking charges

The Guelph Police Service’s Drug Unit began an investigation in May regarding information of suspected opiate-based drug trafficking at an address on Ferguson Street in Guelph.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence and that warrant was executed in the morning of June 8. Two Guelph men were arrested in relation to the investigation that seized a quantity of substances believed to be heroin and marijuana.

Matteo Mascola, 63 years of age, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and later released to appear before the court on July 21, 2017.

The second male is 60 years of age and is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court today.
