At approximately 4 a.m. on Nov. 25, the fire alarm at a downtown hotel was activated by a male that resulted in all of the occupants being displaced from their rooms until it could be determined the alarm was false. This same male returned to the building later in the evening that same day and pulled the fire alarm falsely again. The suspect was identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Early this morning, the responsible male was located in Kitchener by the Waterloo Regional Police and given over to the Guelph Police Service. The 41-year-old Kitchener man is charged with two counts of false alarm of a fire, two counts of mischief and four counts of breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph bail court today.
