Two people arrested for assaulting Guelph police

Two people face charges following two separate alleged assaults against Guelph Police Service members on the weekend.

At approximately 7 p.m on Sunday, police were called to a reported disturbance at a residence on Silvercreek Parkway North. During the investigation, a teenage male attempted to head-butt one of the officers, police report. No injuries were reported.

A 16-year-old Guelph male is charged with assaulting police. He will appear in a Guelph court on April 6.

On Monday, approximately at 2:50 a.m., police were called to a reported disturbance at an address in the area of Edinburgh Road South and Ironwood Road. A female on scene punched a Guelph Police Service officer several times, then resisted by pulling away from police.

A 19-year-old Guelph female is charged with assaulting police and resisting arrest. She will appear in a Guelph court on April 5. No injuries were reported.
