Guelph police are seeking witnesses after a road rage incident Saturday night which left two vehicles demolished and a male facing criminal charges.

Approximately 9:15 p.m. police were called to a parking lot on Silvercreek Parkway North where officers located two heavily-damaged vehicles. Investigation revealed one of the drivers became angry after another driver flashed his high beams while driving on Woodlawn Road West, and began following and eventually intentionally colliding with the other car.

The suspect then smashed the driver’s side window of the other car, pulled the driver out and pushed him to the ground.

A 23-year-old Rockwood male is charged with dangerous driving, assault and mischief under $5,000. He will appear in a Guelph court Feb. 18.

Anyone who saw the two vehicles or has dashcam footage is asked to call Const. Mike Powell of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit at 519-824-1212, ext. 7206, email him at [email protected], leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
