Guelph police are investigating after a stolen van was used to tear the front door off a Guelph business Saturday morning.

Approximately 8:20 a.m. police were dispatched to an alarm call at a business on Silvercreek Parkway North near Speedvale Avenue West. Surveillance video revealed a van reversing to the front door and suspects tying a rope from the door handle to the back of the van. The van drove forward, pulling the door off. A quantity of tools and other equipment was stolen.

The first suspect is described as a male with medium build and wearing a black coat with fur trim, black pants, black shoes, a blue toque and white COVID mask. The second was a male with medium build wearing a black jacket with a snowflake symbol on the shoulder and orange writing on the chest, a camouflage hoodie, black pants, grey balaclava, orange gloves and black and white shoes. The third male, the driver, did not exit the vehicle.

Investigation determined the van had been reported stolen earlier this month from Peel region.
