***********************
On Sept. 6, 2017 at approximately 7:47 a.m., a 21-year-old Cambridge man was operating a Honda eastbound on Summerfield Drive from Jensen Blvd.

The driver reports that he was temporarily blinded by the bright sun and struck a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox that was parked at the south curb of the roadway. The right front corner of the Honda became lodged in the left rear wheel well of the Chevrolet causing the Honda to flip onto its hood and come to rest on its roof.

The driver of the Honda suffered a minor hand injury and was not transported to hospital. The Chevrolet was unoccupied at the time of the collision. Both motor vehicles sustained extensive damage.

Speed was not a factor in this collision.

The driver of the Honda was charged with careless driving and will appear in the Guelph Provincial Offences Court in October.

Witnesses are asked to contact Acting Sergeant Dan Mosey of the Guelph Police Traffic and School Safety Unit at 519-824-1212 at ext. 7145.
