Vehicle gets caught on fence in ditch, driver charged

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA - On Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 at approximately 7 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a vehicle collision on Highway 7, south of Rockwood. It was reported that a beige SUV had entered the ditch and was caught on a fence.

Police attended and found the driver attempting to drive the vehicle out of the ditch. While speaking with the female driver, officers formed the opinion that she was under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing. No one was injured in the crash.

Forty-four-year-old Mary Paulic of Rockwood has been charged with having care and control of a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and with failing to provide sample of breath contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Jan. 4, 2019.
