Vehicle stuck in snowbank leads to impaired charge

A 36-year-old Shelburne man faces two impaired charges as a result

CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP - On Friday, March 1, 2019 at approximately 12:42 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver whose vehicle was stuck on a snowbank on St. Andrew Street, West in Fergus.

Officers located the vehicle and while speaking with the male driver determined that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Andrew Hubbard, 36-years-old, of Shelburne has been charged with Impaired Operation - 80 Plus and Impaired Operation. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 2, 2019 to answer to his charges.
