VIDEO: Woman airlifted to hospital after Stone Road Mall collision

Incident happened around 4 p.m. and two people were taken to hospital

Ornge air ambulance airlifted a woman to an out-of-town hospital late Thursday afternoon after a serious collision involving several vehicles in the Stone Road Mall parking lot.

Police report a woman was transported by air ambulance and a male was transported to Guelph General Hospital.

The incident happened just before 4 p.m.

The condition of the individuals is unknown.

The incident happened in front of the Shoppers Drug Mart in the mall. Several cars were badly damaged and police had a section of the parking lot cordoned off as they conducted their investigation.

The ambulance landed in University Village Park, just south of Stone Road and a land ambulance delivered the patient shortly after 4 p.m. Several police vehicles were there as well, along with numerous pockets of curious onlookers.

Guelph police report that Stone Road will be closed for accident reconstruction and ask that people avoid the area of Stone Road between Edinburgh Road and Scottsdale Drive.
