A Guelph woman faces weapons and other charges following her arrest on an outstanding warrant early Thursday.

Approximately 2:40 a.m. officers were patrolling in the area of Guelph Street and Drew Street when they located a woman known to be wanted on several counts related to stolen vehicles.

She was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed a can of pepper spray, a spring-loaded knife and two sets of car keys in her possession. The woman does not have a driver’s licence or own a car, police say.

A 36-year-old was charged with possessing weapons for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a weapon and two counts of possessing stolen property. She was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
