Theft of John Deere lawn mowers

TOWN OF ERIN – On December 27, 2016 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of two John Deere lawn mowers from Premier Farm Equipment located on Wellington Road 124, Town of Erin.  It is believed the thefts took place between December 24 to December 27.   There was also a garage rear window damaged.

Drinking and driving

TOWN OF MINTO – On December 24, 2016 at approximately 6:35 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officers were called to assist a male who was driving 2003 GMC pickup that had left the roadway and was partially in a ditch on Wellington Road 2 near Wellington Road 3, Town of Minto.  Police found the man waiting in the truck and he appeared to be impaired by alcohol.  He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for testing which resulted in a fail.

44-year-old Brent  Crispin, from the Town of Minto, is charged with Impaired Care or Control and Over 80 Mgs Care or Control contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February 7, 2017.  His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

GUELPH – On December 24, 2016 at approximately 12:05 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Festive R.I.D.E. Unit was conducting spot checks on Highway 6 and College Avenue, Guelph.  A 2012 Chevrolet entered the R.I.D.E. program and officers believed that the male driver had consumed alcohol.  A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail.   He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

25-year-old Zachary Chafee, of Guelph, has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 24, 2017.  His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
