In the last 24 hours, the Guelph Police Service dealt with 235 calls for service

The following news relases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

B.E.A.T. Team Arrest

On February 12, 2019 Guelph police initiated a break and enter investigation involving a medical facility on Norfolk Street. Members of the Guelph Police Service B.E.A.T. team were able to identify the suspect. On February 26, 2019 at approximately 3:40pm, a 34 year old Guelph man was arrested and charged with break and enter and breaching his probation order. He is alleged to have drugs on his person at the time of his arrest and was further charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. The Guelph male was held for a bail hearing.

Over 80

On February 26, 2019 at approximately 11pm, a member of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Division conducted a traffic stop at Willow Road and Hanlon Expressway. The driver was spoken to and a breath demand was made. The driver provided a sample of his breath, which he failed.

William Gamble, a 30 year old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with operating a conveyance with a BAC that is 80 or over.  He was further charged with offences under the Highway Traffic Act, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act and the Cannabis Act. He was given a March 12, 2019 court date.

Break and Enter

On February 26, 2019 Guelph police attended to a Cork Street commercial property for the report of a break and enter. Culprit(s) entered at some point and stole money.
