Guelph Police responded to 209 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Garage break-in
On Jan. 21, 2020 at 10 a.m., a garage located near the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Stevenson Street South in the City of Guelph was entered. It’s unsure at this time exactly what was taken.

Theft from vehicle leads to fraud
Some time overnight on Jan. 20, 2020, a vehicle parked at a residence located near the intersection of Clair Road East and Gordon Street was entered. A wallet was taken. A credit card from the wallet was then used at a convenience store.

The Guelph Police Service would like to remind the public to always lock your vehicles.

Adult female arrested, accused of shoplifting candy
On Jan. 21, 2020 at 11:45 a.m., employees observed an adult female shoplift $45 worth of candy from a store located near the intersection of Stone Road West and Edinburgh Road South in the City of Guelph. Police attended the scene but the female had already left.

At 1:10 p.m., police located the female in the downtown core of the City of Guelph, and she was subsequently arrested.

A 34-year-old Guelph female has been arrested for theft under $5,000.

She will appear in court on March 3, 2020.
