Theft, break and enter, calls for service

The following are news releases issued by the Guelph Police Service:

On May 18, 2018, a south end department store initiated a theft investigation. On May 22, 2018 a suspect was identified and police were called. On May 22, 2018 Mark Read, a 40-year-old Guelph male was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and three counts of breaching his probation order. He was given a July 6, 2018 court date.

On May 22, 2018, Guelph police were called to an LCBO on Wellington Street, where there was a report of a theft. Investigation not only identified a suspect, but alleges that the suspect is responsible for three thefts that occurred on May 15, May 17 and May 22. Robert Kearns-Smith, a 24-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with three counts of theft under $5000. He was given a July 3, 2018 court date.

On May 22, 2018, the Guelph police went to a Brentwood Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered a shed overnight and stole a bicycle.
