Monday at 1:53 a.m., Guelph Police were called regarding an alleged assault that had just occurred against an adult male cab driver.

Police report the driver had picked up a woman near the intersection of Gordon Street and Clair Road East and driven her to a hotel located near the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Silvercreek Parkway North.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the female informed the driver that she actually needed to go to a hotel in Cambridge, and she became furious when she learned about how much it would cost. She then sprayed the driver in the face with a bottle of Sabre Dog Attack Deterrent, and fled the area.

A short time later, the female was located nearby and was subsequently arrested.

An 18 year old Oshawa female has been charged with assault with a weapon and administering noxious thing with intent to annoy.

She will appear in court on Feb. 9.

The driver was transported to the Guelph General Hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
