A Guelph woman faces several charges after entering two homes Tuesday morning and stealing items.

Approximately 9:25 a.m. police were called to the area of Eramosa Road and Callander Drive. The elderly homeowner said she was awakened by the sound of someone entering through the back door and found a woman inside her house. The unknown female left a short time later and the homeowner realized her wallet was missing.

Approximately 12:20 p.m. police learned a woman matching the description had also entered a home on Pleasant Road earlier in the morning through a rear patio door.

At 2 p.m. police were called to a business on Elizabeth Street where a woman had locked herself in the bathroom. She came out after about 20 minutes and was arrested. Property stolen from each of the break and enters was located on her person, as well as a jar containing approximately 67 grams of cannabis.

A 34-year-old Guelph woman is charged with two counts of break and enter, six counts of possessing identity documents, breach of probation and possessing more than 30 grams of cannabis. She was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
