A Guelph woman already on bail for arson faces new charges after two fires were set in the south end Saturday.

Just before 4:30 p.m. police were called to the area of Farley Drive and Beaver Meadow Drive. A resident observed two fires along a walking path approximately five metres from nearby houses. Dry leaves and garbage had been set on fire.

A female in the area fled on foot when firefighters arrived but was located and arrested a short time later. Investigation revealed she is free on bail, accused of setting two garbage bins on fire downtown in June.

A 44-year-old Guelph woman is further charged with arson and failing to comply with a release order. She was held for a bail hearing Monday.
