Woman wanted for seven months arrested on fraud charges

A Guelph female who has been wanted for seven months for fraud was located and arrested Wednesday.

Last Oct. 26, the female entered a downtown bank and deposited a forged cheque into her bank account, police report. The next day she attended the same bank and deposited a second forged cheque.

On April 23 the female was inside a downtown business when staff saw her concealing various items in her purse. She was confronted and put most of the items back, but left the store with more than $100 in products still in her purse.

She was located Wednesday at a residence on Gordon Street near Harvard Road and arrested.

A 55-year-old Guelph female is charged with theft under $5,000 and two counts each of fraud under $5,000 and uttering a forged document. She will appear in a Guelph court August 31.
