PUSLINCH – As local interest in baseball continues to grow, the township is collaborating with Puslinch Minor Ball to upgrade facilities for the 2024/2025 season.

This follows a delegation from Puslinch Minor Ball to council Wednesday morning where the township said they would work with the group to replace and purchase two bullpens, re-open and renovate the concession stand at the old Morriston Ball Diamond and update the small diamond at Morriston Meadows, among other upgrades.

Among their requests are improving and relocating the Morriston Meadows bleachers and adding fencing to its smaller diamond to improve use, building and installing game shade dugouts and moving the new septic tanks from the middle of the bullpen at the Old Morriston Ball Diamond – in addition to improved communication with the township.

While the group does intend to help pay, the township's contribution to these projects will be funded by a combination of development charges and parkland dedication funds.

Mayor James Seeley also encouraged the group to contact local aggregate producers for supplies and funding.

Of the over 150 kids that participated in Puslinch Minor Ball last year, almost 80 per cent are from Puslinch. In 2021, approximately 40 kids participated.
