Wellington North remuneration increased by $16,000 in 2023

Total remuneration expenses exceeded the proposed budget of $133,044 by only $629

WELLINGTON NORTH – While the township's total remuneration costs increased in 2023, they exceeded the budget by less than $1,000. 

Last year, the total amount paid out was just over $133,044, up from approximately $117,000 in 2022. 

Mayor Andy Lennox made $33,020 in total.

Each councillor was paid $19,000 in 2023, not including benefits, conventions and seminars, telephone and internet and travel expenses. 

In total, Coun. Penny Renken was paid $28,021, which included $7,161 for conventions and seminars.

Coun. Sherry Burke made $24,386 including $1,239 for telephone and internet.

Both Coun. Lisa Hern and Coun. Steve McCabe received $22,144 and $22,753. 

The total remuneration expenses exceeded the proposed budget by $629.
